The story of JPPCalls

I started hunting with my father in 1994, the first time I was out hunting with a gun. I immediately fell in love with waterfowl hunting, and I am still a passionate waterfowl hunter 30 years later.

I got to try decoy hunting very quickly after I started hunting, and I bought my first decoy photos in 1998, 10 field decoys of greylag geese. I also bought a call and after searching for a duck call in Finland for many years, I managed to buy one. The duck call came with a C-cassette, which taught the basics of calling, and while practicing calling, I already wanted a different call. The problem was that they were not available in Finland.

I decided to start making them myself. I searched for information and one thing led to another and a third, and after a couple of years I noticed that I had shipped my calls to the USA and elsewhere in Europe, and of course to a few friends. On the other hand, I participated in a call-making competition in the USA in 2009 and placed quite well!

I've made more non-functional calls than I can remember. I've also made plenty of functional ones, and fortunately there are still satisfied users. Making calls is a hobby, a passion, and now a profession!

I will not give, sell or deliver any call if it is not good enough to use in the action . That is my principle and I guarantee that they will be functional when delivered. Calls can break and parts can wear out, but with maintenance and replacement of parts they can almost always be made to work.
